King's Leigh Stud

Kingsleighs Stud is very proud to be part of Worcester Riding School. Set up over 5 years ago with the purchase of the super stallion Crikkeith Finch from the Crikkeith Stud in North Wales, it has grown over the last 5 years to what it is today. Set up with the sole purpose to breed childrens ponies, with temperament of paramount importance, with confirmation and attitude to match.

We currently stand a number of stallions with our foundation stallion still top dog!! The details of the stallions can be found below. We aim to breed quality and as such, breed between 3 and 5 foals a year. The stallions are not available to visiting mares, only our special ones get to have their babies!!

To keep up to date with what the studs stallions get up to, keep an eye on the news and kingsleighs stud page.

We always welcome visitors and occasionally our homebred stock is for sale..... to very very special homes!!

We have had a few changes recently with the stud, and a few of the stallions have been castrated. This is to ensure that we only retain suitable stallions for breeding purposes. We have, however purchased two new additions.......

HOTSHOT

We are very excited to welcome HOTSHOT to TEAM WRS, a fully registered Dartmoor pony stallion, Hotshot was recently purchased from a local Dartmoor pony stud. He stands a little below 12hh and is one of senior rider, Katie Costello's new ride's for 2010. He came to TEAM WRS unbroken just before christmas, and Katie has been working with him over the christmas holidays, with the aim of getting him out competing late February early March this year.

Deni who found Stevie at a local stud, had been looking for over two years for the right Dartmoor Stallion  commented on his arrival, ' Stevie is a a proper stamp of a Dartmoor, Leg at each corner, fabulous shoulder, lovel kind eye and fantastic paces, it is hoped that he will become a valuable member of the team, and we are exceptionally lucky to have been given the opportunity to have him join us, Katie has worked very hard on the initial backing and training stage, and now its just a case of letting Stevie settle and get on with his work.'

Here is Stevie and Katie in the arena two weeks after backing
