Our Story

Worcester Riding School - WRS was set up in 2004 by Deni with the support of Sas, Tara.

Deni has a background in PR& Marketing, but had ridden since a small child, in fact she doesn’t remember learning to ride as there were always ponies in the fields when she was growing up. Having the riding school has allowed Deni to run a string of competition horses and ponies. Most weeks Deni is out competing in British Dressagw, British showjumping and more recently British Eventing. Since a young children Deni has also driven her ponies, and has been fortunate to win at such prestigious events as Royal Windsor and Chatsworth.

Sas helped set up WRS alongside her career within primary school teaching. Helping out at weekends and our annual camp until she early retired from primary school teaching.

katie is head of coaching and has been with WRS since the second year we were open. Alongside her very successful chiropractic clinic, and competing her two yellow ponies, katie plans all our coaching and pony club sessions.

Christian is another person who you may see around the yard. He is Deni’s long term suffering partner! Putting up with Deni ‘s mad cap ideas, Christian helps and advises on our safeguarding policies and protocol being well placed to do so with the position he holds with the Serious Crime Unit. Christian also enjoys competing alongside Deni and Kate, on his Eventing mare.

Jennie is one of our special voluteers, without whom we would not be able to operate. ennie has also been with us since our inception. Jennie is  Sas's younger sister, and she has been a part of WRS helping during our programmes and when we need an extra pair of hands.

Josh is the son of one of our founders, Tara. Although Tara has now moved away, Josh still comes back and can be found teaching on the yard, this is alongside his career in the household Calvery.
